About Me
I am a writer, pastor, and scholar of the Old Testament, currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Biblical Studies. My work explores how Scripture shapes lived faith—how God meets us not only in the heights of revelation, but in everyday experience and obedience. I love Hebrew verbs and burning bushes in equal measure.
I created Joyful for Jesus in summer of 2017 because I was a grad student looking for more than the daily grind. I needed a space to write about the things God was stirring in my heart, such as faith, calling, work, identity, struggle, and hope. The real, raw, ordinary moments where heaven meets our everyday lives, but with curiosity, historical depth, and biblical insight.
I’m passionate about helping people see how Scripture speaks to the messy, meaningful parts of life today. God is still speaking, still leading, and still writing beautiful stories in and through us—even when we feel a little lost.

You don’t have to have it all together to live a life of joy.
Just a willing heart, a little courage, and a Saviour who knows you by name.
In partnership with The Canadian Bible Society
This partnership means that I have the privilege of collaborating with an organization whose heartbeat is helping people encounter God through Scripture. Together, we share stories of what God is doing, encourage believers, and help make the Bible approachable and alive for everyday people.
